electronics for thhe dumbest dummy part2

Hello guys trust you loved the last post on electronics for the dumbest dummy, this time around I will like you to follow me as we take a close look at active components.

                          ACTIVE COMPONENTS

They are components that give power gain and and do not need corresponding input to give an output e.g  transistor  and  discrete ICS.

          .                                  TRANSITORS

They are electronics components that give power gain based on their configuration....
They are majorly used for amplification power either in a radio circuit or to boost current.they are also used to amplify radio signals, such as one used in the yagi antenna.......transistors also have three pins named  emmiter, base, collector .when it comes to talking about transistors its a wild field so I will implore us to read more from principles of electronics by . V.K METHA

                                Types of transistor

1. (BJT) bipolar junction  transistor
2. MOSFET e.t.c.

The scope of this post is limited to BJT transistors because of complexity but we will be revisiting

BJT transistor configuration and typical use in circuit

Transistors can be configured either in
 1. Common emmiter.
2. Common collector.
3.  Common base.

Those are the three basic transistor configuration. But of the three common emmiter is the most commonly used one as it is an inverter configuration I.e at the collector output it gives you a change in level. I.e if it was on or (high) before it becomes a (low) or off...... In Electronics we say it gives a phase change of 180°. We use it in common emmiter mode also as a result of it giving us more current at same voltage via the source. Here is a circuit for common emmiter at the top of the page.

        BJT transistor types.

1. NPN transistors.

2 PNP transistors

Transistor basic identification drawing is located under transistor configurations.
In the next post we will be looking at an NPN transistor BC547 and its function coupled with how it can be used in a circuit for any design you want
Thankyou God bless I hope this little post has helped us. if it does please leave a  omment
